The fully operational factory, unfortunately, caught fire in December 2021, Kayedem was originally appointed to make safe certain areas within the factory complex, however, following the site being classed as a total loss, Kayedem were then instructed to clear the entire site and demolish all remaining structures to slab level.

The former factory was a portal frame structure with tin sheet cladding to all perimeter walls and steel-clad roofing sheets. The majority of the factory unit was open plan, which housed various hydraulic presses, injection moulding machines and various other thermoplastic processing equipment.

Kayedem used 3 no demolition spec excavators along with rotating shears and grabs to dismantle and demolish the remaining structures on site. All arising ferrous and non-ferrous metals were all salvaged for recycling.

  • 1 x Bobcat skid steer
  • 1 x 25-ton Loading shovel
